Yoel Diaz Galvez
Yoel Diaz Galvez was born in Havana, Cuba in 1979 and currently lives and works at Guadalajara, Mexico.
Bodies, faces, arms or legs are masterfully painted over a blurry, abstract background and illustrate an intense pictorial dialogue between figurative and abstract art evoking the Latin-American Magic Realism. Diaz Galvez inspiration ilustrate the constant tension between reality and dream. His paintings, often gray with subtle colors, produce monochromatic shades that are exquisitely burnished and textured to evoke moods and feelings awakening the observer to astonishing new realities.
